Knowledge and able to engage in customer opportunities in the following areas:

  • LAN/WAN networking from a consultative approach
  • Wireless networking
  • Network wecurity / next generation firewalls
  • Datacenter modernization
  • Experience with working with Cloud Native Architecture & born in the cloud companies

 

For this position, we are specifically looking for an architect who has experience in the following areas:

  • Deep Networking Skills – Juniper, Cisco, Arista
  • Enterprise/campus networking and security – Aruba, Cisco Meraki
  • Network security – Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Checkpoint, Fortinet

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic conversations with CTO, CIO’s and senior level technical staff
  • Ability to work with Application and Business teams not just traditional network teams
  • Ability to create and manage POC’s & POV’s.
  • Ability to create strategic presentations for adopting new technologies and modernization projects
  • Support the Sales and the rest of Engineering team by creating various kinds of project documentation such as:
    • Bills of Materials
    • Statements of Work
    • System Diagrams
    • Project Presentations
  • Be available to answer technical and product comparison questions for the field and inside sales teams
  • Assist and accompany the BCT sales team as required on customer calls and onsite meetings as a technical subject matter expert during various stages of sales process
  • Capture technical requirements for sales opportunities and recommend specific, detailed solutions
  • Help growing BCT’s business through the acquisition of new customers, winning sales opportunities, and earning repeat business with existing customers, and building business relationships with customers and manufacturers
  • Analyze technology trends for influence and impact on BCT products, strategy, and customers
  • Identify new opportunities for strategic directions and innovation
  • Contribute to or lead definition of an architectural framework for specific areas of technical expertise
  • Provide recommendations to senior management on strategic issues based on technical expertise and knowledge of industry trends combined with business needs
  • Deliver technically focused presentations to internal audiences to develop and promote BCT technology strategies
  • Deliver technically focused presentations to external audiences (on-site meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.) to promote solutions BCT is actively selling and to demonstrate BCT's technical expertise
  • Directly contribute to development of technical standards that are important to BCT
  • Be involved in Professional Services engagement within areas of expertise, to ensure that Customers are satisfied and to keep up with technical skills
  • Initiate and cultivate productive and positive working relationships between yourself and all BCT employees

 

Education and Experience Requested

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in network and firewall architecture and technologies
  • Deep understanding of networking technologies and protocols such as: Ethernet, LACP, VLAN, MPLS, VPLS, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, QoS, STP, DNS, Multicast, TCP, HTTP
  • Fluency in translating applications needs to networking requirements
  • Four-year college degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience
  • Current, relevant industry certifications a plus – Juniper Networks (JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE), Palo Alto Networks (PCNSE, PSE-P), Cisco Networks (CCNP, CCNE)

 

Additional Requested Skills

  • Team focus – Everything we do involves teamwork.  Solutions architects are the elite members of the team and are often called upon to mentor and provide leadership to others
  • Results-oriented, highly productive, self-starter, taking ownership of tasks and completing them in a timely manner without reminders and with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with various server technologies is helpful, but not required
  • Familiarity with various storage technologies/protocols: SAN, NAS, File Systems, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, SMB, CIFS, NFS, etc. is helpful, but not required
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server system administration is desirable, but not required
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP and Azure cloud platforms is desired
